The year 2012 sees the Welfare Secretariat assembling a team of highly motivated NUS undergraduates to embark on its long-awaited Youth Expedition Project (YEP). The team members made up from different social backgrounds, have managed to overcome all odds in gearing up for this 6-month intensive project. In a bid to raise $25,000 for this project, the team came came up with various activities which include multiple newspaper collection at various neighboring estates and bake sales in schools.

With our vision of “Hands Reaching Out,Always Helping”,the Welfare Secretariat also believes in serving the local community before venturing overseas. We will also be liasing with Ang Mo Kio Family Service Centre for our local projects. Henceforth,we shall then embark on our service learning project at Panti Asuhan Amanah which is located at Jogjakarta,Indonesia. This YEP shall last for 11 days from 23rd June 2012-6th July 2012. It is hoped that the lives of the Jogjakarta earthquake victims will be further enhanced through the programs planned especially for them.
